Free Printable New Year Tarot Spread
Happy New Year! Start the year with a fresh start by learning what you need to leave behind and where to focus. This in-depth New Year Tarot Spread includes 6 different cards to reflect on major themes in your life.

Whether you love the feeling of having a fresh start or are having a hard time moving on from last year, this is a great moment to pause and reflect.
Initially, I wanted to share a 12-month spread to identify something for each month but every time I meditated about it, I got a totally different image. I saw 6 cards: half in the white snow and half in the black earth.
The image made sense to me, this one-foot-in-one-foot-out sort of way of being and the balance of the light and the dark.
As I started working on this spread, it really just flowed out and felt so deeply true. Hopefully you get the same sense when you work with it!

6-Card New Year Tarot Spread
There are so many different tarot readings you can do to celebrate the upcoming year, and you certainly do not have to follow this spread.
But, what I like about this one is that it’s quicker than many of the others out there and really taps into deep, major themes in our lives. It doesn’t shy away from the dark and heavy things, bringing them to light first and foremost, then offering hope, joy, and love to move forward in a positive light.
It brings me peace and I hope you find it to be encouraging, too!
The Dark
1. The Deep Dark – What is something deep inside the shadow part of you that needs to be seen and healed?
2. The Challenge – What is a challenge you will need to overcome in the next year?
3. The Unseen – Which unseen forces have power in your life? How can you recover your power?
The Light
4. The Purest Hope – This hope propels you forward. What is it and how can you pursue it?
5. Celebration – Which sort of positive changes and growth will you be celebrating next year?
6. Radiant Love – What would it look like if you radiate love throughout your life?
How to Use This New Year Tarot Spread
There are a couple of things to know. First, you can totally do a tarot card spread by looking at the images on this page and keeping the post open.
But, I’ve also created a free printable tarot spread with a note-taking tool so you can keep track of the cards you pulled and the meanings you discerned from them.
I like to keep all of my tarot spreads in a folder or journal, then I can reference them later on. It’s quite nice!

Tips for Success
Feel free to use your favorite tarot deck or oracle deck. Sometimes I like to pull a card of the year from the oracle deck to get a main theme for the year then use tarot cards to dig deeper into this specific spread. Do whatever feels right to you. There’s no right answer here.
I always recommend taking at least 5-10 minutes to meditate and ground yourself before you start reading. Tell yourself (or your guides or anyone listening) that you want to reflect on the past year and understand what’s to come in the next year. Ask for clarity and wisdom so that you can achieve your highest good.
Once you feel calm and grounded, you’re ready to go!
Hope this helps. Happy New Year!
